April 12: Brian would have been 31 today.
We had a good day celebrating him, the whole family came. We did the things he loved to do and had fun doing them. We went to his favorite Indian restaurant. The grand-kids had mango lasses which Brian loved. I could never develop a taste for them but, it was great watching them drink them down. Then we walked to Coors Field and watched a daytime Rockies game. Brian always liked the crowds and energy. Didn’t matter that the Rockies lost it was about the time and laughter together.
We finished our time at the ball-park with a classic Brian moment. We waited for most of the crowd to leave, makes it easier with the grand-kids. As we were approaching the exit gate a young boy about 12 came up and gave my 3 yer old grand-son a Rockies batting helmet. He did it purely to see the joy in my grand-son’s face. Brian used to do this just for the sake of making someones day a little brighter. It brought tears to my eyes. My grand-son hugged that helmet tight to his chest when it wasn’t on his head. He was so thrilled. For me it was a reminder of how beautiful my son could be. I miss him.
