Have I told you lately that I LOVE you??

Another funeral today. An old buddy of mine. He was a phenomenal man and much to young to leave us. He died very unexpectedly, here one day gone the next. It was a nice ceremony and I was struck by one of the comments from his best fishing buddy. The last time they went fishing, the weekend prior, he said that those days were important and oh so special. It got me thinking about the last time I talked with Brian. Did I say the right things? Did I tell Brian that I loved him? As I think about our last conversation I know it was really good. He was positive, I was positive and we shared the vision for a renewed future. I told him I loved him. He and his mom talked for a while and once again things were looking up. It made us feel so good about where we were going. That was the night he died.

How would it be today if the conversation had been different, opposite of what it was. Not sure where I would be today if that had happened.

It’s one of the things I truly enjoy about our family. We aren’t shy about showing our love for one another. We let each other know how important they are too us and how much we love each other. I’m not suggesting that we don’t have our problems because we certainly do, it’s only natural. We try however not to allow those problems to fester and even through those that love is fundamental to our long term family health.

So, what I am suggesting is that you take the time to let those that you love just how special they are to you. Don’t let it be too late.
