This site is about the journey of one family that suffered the loss of a son, brother, uncle and so much more. Brian’s life was rich with experiences and adventure. All those things contributed to who he was as a young man. A love of his was music and writing lyrics. His favorite genre for writing was rap. He appreciated the raw truth and the lack of veils.

The attached poem is written in his honor and in the genre that he enjoyed so much.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. (Psalm 19:1)

In loving memory of our beautiful Brian

BLUE SKY

Bri guy – I’m not random, I’m not chance,
In love designed, divine providence,
Every hair on my head, meticulously placed,
Every flaw idolized, perfection showcased

For each a plan, for each an intent
Our purpose unknown, Him to accent
Without a designer what is morality
No coincidence, an absolute, mortality

I know there’s a God, I know deep inside
If you challenge me, if you ask me why
My simple response is
Blue Sky

Didn’t ask for this life, my heart breaks
Can’t stop the strife, my body aches
Didn’t choose these four walls
My soul says no, can’t stop the fall

Baby girls oh so sweet Fill my heart with love,
can’t see me tweak, Adore them so,
little ones, they’re my bears,
Danger lurks, I need your prayers

Can’t fight these demons all day long
Can’t fight them all alone
Please help me, hear my cry
I’m so afraid, I will not lie
Blue Sky

Regret consumes, what did I do
So many things said untrue
This isn’t who I am you see
This isn’t who I want to be

A dead-end road, can’t turn around
Know He’s talking, can hear His sound
Know He’ll save me, know He’s there
Know He loves me, know He cares

There’s a better place over the rainbow
A place Mom and Dad where I can grow
He’s coming now, I hate to fly
Safe I’ll be, pain free, good bye
Blue Sky

My precious Bri, why, Lord help me, hear my cry
This pain I can’t deny, my lifetime to testify
Hurt every day, can’t run away
Deep in my heart is where he’ll stay

My baby girls their hearts crushed
Their love for Brian won’t be hushed
Representin his name, sharin his story
Telling the tale of His wondrous glory

My darling wife so strong and brave
Tears stream down, body rocks, shockwave
Her baby boy, miss him so, He’s nearby
Blue Sky

Prayers answered, not my how
He has Brian, “he’s safe now”
No more suffering, no agony
My soul cries out, his Calvary

We carry on, an assurance of hope
A loving God, His strength to cope
I have no doubt, my faith will guide
Reunited we’ll be on the other side

Prayers answered, His will satisfied
Promise kept, standing by our side
Hope consumes, eternity is nigh
Oh how we love and miss our Bri guy
